Working With International Intended Parents

Working With International Intended Parents

Many surrogates often ask several questions pertaining to working with International Intended parents.  We wanted to dispel some of the thoughts or rumors that go along with working with an international IP.  The following information is true for our standards but may not apply to other agencies so be sure to get the facts and ask your agency questions.  First of all this does not require you to travel internationally.  The reason so many from across the globe come to the United States for a surrogacy arrangement is for the shear fact that our IVF process and procedures are FAR above what other countries are capable of.   Not only are our statistics higher meaning the success rates are much higher, but we also can test for genetic abnormalities.  In doing this an Intended Parent can determine which embryo have the possibility of having a major abnormality or a gene that could potential have damaging affects down the road along with even Downs syndrome before transferring the embryo to their surrogate mom.  They can determine the sex of the baby as well!  There are even about a dozen clinics or so throughout the US that have become a part of the SPAR program which eliminates the risk to surrogate, wives, and babies using IVF to carry a child from a father who has HIV or any other potentially harmful infections.  This program has worked with these individuals for years essentially separating infected sperm from uninfected sperm allowing for them to still become parents without passing infectious diseases to others or their unborn child in the process.

In addition to our incredible abilities with IVF and the success rates our laws are surrogate friendly in multiple states allowing Intended Parents the ability to have someone else carry their child and be named on the birth certificate.  Willing hearts and supportive laws are what gives many hope in situations where that hope has been lost.  We have seen much growth in the Chinese culture for surrogacy.  With our technology today, there are apps such as WeChat that allows a surrogate the ability to communicate with her IPs directly which takes away the language barrier.  It is not a perfect tool, but it does allow for one on one communication making everyone feel closer to each other than they are.  Surrogates I have worked with over the years have determined that matches all over the world have felt no different than a state-side match.  Thanks to our technology and ability to communicate through so many different venues we can feel closer and bridge the distance geographically.  We have been fortunate to bring together many different cultures all with the same purpose in helping others grow their families and achieve their goals of parenthood.

Thank you to all the surrogates across America we have been blessed to work with who have used their gifts of healthy pregnancies to bless others.
